Virginia-based record label Planting Seeds have rounded up their finest artists and their friends for their first compilation release in four years, with some of the proceeds going to breast cancer charity, The Keep A Breast Foundation. An album of two halves (but only one disc), Blue Skies Daisy Days features exclusive tracks from the likes of Linda Draper, who collaborates with psychedelic Japanese duo Color Filter on the beautifully plaintive ‘All In One Day’, former Eighteenth Day Of May violist Alison Cotton’s new band The Left Outsides, up-and-coming Oxford band International Jetsetters, and Jude Kastle’s The Voyces. Less exclusive but still lovely inclusions come from Emily Barker with ‘Oh Journey’ from her recent album Despite The Snow, recorded with her band The Red Halos, and Heavenly signings The Loose Salute’s ‘Mutineer’ from recent album Tuned Love.
The Keep A Breast Foundation, based in San Diego, California, aims to increase breast cancer awareness in young people through art events, educational programmes and fundraising efforts like this one. In particular, the Keep A Breast Music for Awareness programme encourages musicians, promoters and music fans to put on benefit shows in support of breast cancer awareness and prevention. They’re also the people who will be auctioning the cast of Katy Perry’s breasts painted by her boyfriend Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes here from November 26th. Find out more about the Foundation itself here.
Back to the compilation, here’s the tracklist in full. Buy it from December 1st.
