Milberg
‘It May Be Winter Outside (But In My Heart It’s Spring)’

Though her debut solo album is still but a promise on the distant horizon, Lisa Milberg has been keeping herself busy with various endeavours, not least the recording of a new album with The Concretes, the Swedish pop maestros she’s been fronting since 2006 following the departure of Taken By Trees’ Victoria Bergsman. With a new set of hand-designed tote bags now available through her blog and a recently launched club night, Lotta Love, in her native Stockholm, it’s a wonder she has any time left for touring and developing her own material. It’s possible that this latest freebie will make it onto her anticipated debut, since it’s a seasonal affair rather than anything specifically festive, but even as a standalone Christmas track this is a pleasure. ‘It May Be Winter Outside’ sees Lisa layering lush electric guitar with pattering, snowfall cymbals in a soft, sensual ode to warm-hearted romance in a cold climate. A treat to see us through the Yuletide temperatures, it’s a crackling song, log-fire bright and promising good things to come. To keep track of Lisa’s array of creative projects, or to purchase a delightfully bright tote, visit her blog.
