Amanda Palmer responded rather gracefully to a Twitter attack from Courtney Love with an apt Tori Amos quote. Love was upset that her currently estranged daughter Frances Bean Cobain is appearing on the upcoming debut from Palmer’s Evelyn Evelyn side project (out March 29), saying that the only reason the project had received press attention was because of the seventeen year old’s involvement. “my daughter has a voice like a unicorn in a dewy dell this isnt it,” she spat, adding “if your not ruthlessly exploiting my child you need to blog NOW.”
Palmer had earlier clarified issues with Cobain’s guest appearance on her blog – “There was a minor tabloid blow-up while i was away announcing the album features the “singing debut of frances bean cobain.” oh good god. if you’re looking for that, wrong record. everybody was just having fun, and there’s almost no way to distinguish who’s singing what…” – but that didn’t seem to be enough for Courtney. ”you really do see someones character in a family or crises emergency, stranger or friend, and theres ole @amandapalmer hmmm,” she wrote as a parting shot.
