Serafina Steer
Change Is Good Change Is Good

[Static Caravan; April 12]

London-based harpist Serafina Steer returns next month with her second album for Static Caravan. The twelve-track album sees her moving away from the sort of material that saddled her with constant comparisons with Joanna Newsom, adopting a more diversely textured style. The French-sung ‘Margoton’, for instance, gets a nagging beat that’s straight out of a retro computer game. Co-produced by Capitol K and Benge, and featuring guest appearances from Polar Bear/Acoustic Ladyland drummer Seb Rochford and violinist Emma Smith of Basquiat Strings, it looks set to be a bold progression from her 2007 debut Cheap Demo Bad Science.
