Sleigh Bells team up with M.I.A. to release debut album

The gushing buzz over Brooklyn duo Sleigh Bells made them a super hot topic towards the end of 2009, despite the lack of any tangible releases. We’ve been fidgeting ever since those first humongous chords of ‘Infinity Guitars’ and ‘Crowns On The Ground’ smelted our hearts, and despite their earlier nonchalance about rushing anything out, it seems rewards are finally on their way.

Ex-Poison The Well guitarist Derek Miller and vocalist Alexis Krauss have announced that their debut album Treats will be co-released by Mom + Pop Records and M.I.A.’s label NEET on May 10. Production comes from Miller himself, and word is that he’s helped out a little in that department on M.I.A.’s own forthcoming album.

After winding up at SXSW, Sleigh Bells are heading to London for three live dates next week:

23.03.10 White Heat @ Madam Jojo’s, London
25.03.10 Notting Hill Arts Club, London
26.03.10 Koko, London
