Now that the weather is getting warmer the prospect of spending an evening on a 77 year old barge moored on the River Thames is beginning to look somewhat more appealing. Add in some music from a handpicked selection of highly talented songwriters and there’s precious little to argue against. Fresh from the success of last summer’s programme, which included shows from Alessi’s Ark and Jesca Hoop, The Moonshine Jamboree returns to boat turned floating bar/restaurant, the Tamesis, from April 28 with another packed schedule of weekly shows.
First up is the unmissable trio of Mary Hampton, Rachael Dadd and Emaline & The Emboldened Wanderlust (£6 advance), with later shows including Liz Green and Laura Hocking (May 19), Mariee Sioux (May 26), ex Bellatrix frontwoman Elíza Newman (June 9), Jess Bryant and Woodpecker Wooliams (June 16), and Glasgow’s Panda Su (July 14).
