The row that erupted in the wake of Erykah Badu’s very public stripping during the filming of her ‘Window Seat’ video in her hometown of Dallas earlier this year has finally concluded. Threatened by Dallas city officials with jail time of up to one year and a substantial fine for “guerilla filming” and indecent exposure, Badu appeared to be off the hook when no witnesses came forward.
One eventually did, giving rise to a commuted charge of disorderly conduct and an associated $500 fine, which the confrontational artist (a Texas native) vowed to fight in the courts. Well, it seems she didn’t bother in the end as a Dallas city spokesman told the Associated Press that Badu paid the fine last week and will also serve six months’ probation.
