[Self-released; September 1]
After a few years of toiling around in a plethora of underground bands, South London-based Laura Kidd reinvented herself as She Makes War, a purposeful solo project that we recently described as “appealingly grainy angst-pop à la Blood Red Shoes shot through in leftfield with the conceptual imagination of someone like Melissa Auf der Maur.”
Now she’s about to release her debut album, Disarm, a thirteen-song collection that’s been lavished with imagination and is available in four physical packages containing a range of goodies from the standard CD/DVD set to “a gorgeous lyric/photo book, hand decorated photo postcards and a live EP.”
The digital release will be available through Laura’s Bandcamp page on a pay-what-you-think-it’s-worth basis, with donations of £10 and over receiving extra goodies, and the album will also be available int he usual places like iTunes, eMusic and Amazon.
