Toronto-based duo Ghost Bees are no more! Well, not quite. They’ve just changed their name to Tasseomancy, the fancy word for reading fortunes in tea leaves, and, not coincidentally, the title of their excellent album of a couple of years back.
Twin sisters Romy and Sari Lightman will release their first single under their new moniker on October 5 through Hype Lighter, the boutique label run by John O of Diamond Rings. ’Healthy Hands’ was recorded along with other new material in Montreal, with help from Taylor Kirk and the rest of Timbre Timbre, who feature more prominently on the B-side, ‘The Darkness Of Things’.
The single will be available on 7″ – limited to 500 copies on pink vinyl – and download, and will have an accompanying video directed by Claire Edmondson (Feist, Diamond Rings). Watch out for that soon.
