Liz Janes
‘I Don’t Believe’

Taken from her new album Say Goodbye, out December 6 through Asthmatic Kitty, ‘I Don’t Believe’ marks the first new material in six years from Liz Janes, a graduate of the ’90s Olympia, Washington scene who first made her own individual mark with 2002′s Sufjan Stevens-produced Done Gone Fire. A collaboration with producer Rafter Roberts and featuring Motown-esque horn arrangements by Rocket From The Crypt’s Jason Crane, Say Goodbye is, at its heart, Janes’s version of a soul record. If the laidback groove of ‘I Don’t Believe’ is anything to go by, she’s got the sultry, slow-burn quality down to a tee.
