[Drag City; November 15]
It’s been four years since the last Faun Fables album, punctuated only by their 2008 EP A Table Forgotten and frontwoman Dawn McCarthy’s collaborations with Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy on The Letting Go and its companion album Wai Notes. Arriving via the group’s longtime home of Drag City, Light Of A Vaster Dark is Dawn and Nils’s sixth release and holds a vague concept of transitioning from darkness to light via the changing of the seasons and pleasures and travails of domesticity.
