Joanna Newsom tribute album out next month

Joanna Newsom has inspired a lot of things over the years, from marriage proposals from besotted fans to this year’s literary compendium Visions Of Joanna Newsom. The obvious progression, then, is a tribute album, and that’s exactly what we’re getting with Versions Of Joanna, a digital compilation featuring well-known sorts like M Ward, Owen Pallett, Ben Sollee and Billy Bragg and less established acts, including some members of Newsom’s longest-running fan forum Milky Moon.

The twenty-two tracks span Joanna’s entire career, from 2003′s ‘Flying A Kite’ (from the long out-of-print Walnut Whales EP) to several tracks from this year’s Have One On Me. We’re really glad to see a version of ‘Colleen’ on there too.

Versions Of Joanna will be released digitally next month with all proceeds going to Oxfam’s Pakistan flood relief effort. List of songs and artwork below, along with some live videos.
