REMIX | Asobi Seksu x Deerhoof — ‘Trails’

January 14, 2011 by Odhran ODonoghue in Blog

Asobi Seksu
‘Trails’ [Deerhoof remix]

New York’s Asobi Seksu are purveyors of some of the smoothest, shoegaze-inspired tunes in music today; Deerhoof, who hail from America’s opposite coast, are art-punk royalty. Mixing these two very distinct styles was always going to be intriguing at the very least, but the experimental rockers’ remix of ‘Trails’ – the first single from new Polyvinyl labelmates Asobi Seksu’s latest album Fluorescence (out February 7) – is so much more than that. Simultaneously pretty and a little weird, it proves that opposites really do attract.

As previously reported, Deerhoof have an album of their own out very soon. January 24 to be exact. And it’s really, really good.
