Rose Polenzani returns next month with her first solo album since 2005′s impressive August [review], a six-year gap punctuated by releases with Session Americana and Sharon Lewis, plus numerous tours, including a stint as one of The Fates in the Greater Boston staging of Anaïs Mitchell’s Hadestown folk opera. The self-produced The Rabbit features thirteen original songs recorded live in the studio with fifteen other musicians, including the familiar faces of Amy Correia, Laura Cortese and Rose Cousins, and was mixed by Gary Maurer of Hem. The artwork below comes from illustrator Peter Lalish. Pre-order directly from Rose herself here.
Watch a video below of album opener ‘Seven Swans’ played live at Club Passim in October 2009, with Jennifer Kimball and Anne Heaton on backing vocals.
