Celebrating their thirtieth anniversary as a band in 2011, Shonen Knife are outdoing themselves in the productivity stakes with the August release of Osaka Ramones. Arriving on the heels of last week’s release of their fifteenth studio album, Free Time [review], it’s an energetic tribute to their ultimate guitar heroes The Ramones, titled after the girls’ affectionate nickname. The thirteen-track album was produced by Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Takac, and the artwork below pays homage to The Ramones’ classic 1977 album, Rocket To Russia.
