Karen O writes “psycho-opera”

July 18, 2011 by Alan Pedder in Blog

Karen O is set to premiere her “psycho-opera” at New York’s St Ann’s Warehouse this October during a week-long event curated by The Creators Project, the global cultural and technology initiative by Vice and Intel Corporation which had a huge involvement in this year’s Coachella Festival.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman is one of the first artists to work with the Project’s own multi-million dollar production workshop, The Studio, who have enlisted playwright/director Adam Rapp to help turn Karen’s “assault on the tragic joys of youth” into a stage spectacle.

More detailed information is currently thin on the ground, but we’ll be keeping an eye on thecreatorsproject.com for new developments.
