peggy sue announce new album, share first song

Peggy Sue
Acrobats

[Wichita Recordings; September 12]

Here’s some news we’ve been anticipating for a while: the arrival of a new Peggy Sue album! They may have only released their debut, Fossils & Other Phantoms, in April 2010, but Katy, Rosa and Olly headed back into the studio earlier this year with producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, Sparklehorse) to get started on the next. Acrobats sees them mostly dispensing with their trademark acoustic guitars, which appear here on one song only, for a heavier sound that’s thick with atmosphere and beauty. Preview track ‘Cut My Teeth’ can be streamed below, and downloaded using the widget at the bottom of the page.

Peggy Sue will host a release party for the album on September 12 at London’s The Lexington, with very special guest Laura Gibson, before heading out for a mini tour calling at the following venues:

14.09.11 Railway, Winchester
15.09.11 Louisiana, Bristol
17.09.11 Deaf Institute
18.09.11 Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
