Did you know that today is pretty much the last day you can pre-order either of the Biophilia special editions? And that they’ll never be manufactured again after this? Now’s a good time, then, to tell you more about what the two packages offer.
As previously reported, The Biophilia Manual (£35) is a 48-page, full-colour, hardbound, cloth-covered and thread-sewn book. What it also contains is a bonus disc of live recordings from Björk residency at the Manchester International Festival in May and June of this year, plus essays by Nikki Dibben, design, exclusive drawings and live photography by M/M (Paris), and additional photography by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin. The front cover features a lenticular panel with a 3D version of the front cover, while the spine and back cover are foil-blocked. The inside pages are printed on heavyweight matt-coated paper. In other words, it’s hella special.
Here are some example pages:

If that’s not good enough for you then maybe you’ll be interested in The Ultimate Edition (£500). Manufactured in a run of just two hundred copies, it’s presented in a wooden box containing The Biophilia Manual plus ten custom-made tuning forks and an individually numbered certificate.
