Patti Smith is teaming up with Oscar-nominated screenwriter and Tony Award-winning playwright John Logan (‘The Aviator’) on a movie adaptation of her unputdownable memoir, Just Kids, which scooped the National Book Award for Non-Fiction in the US last year. Deadline.com reports that despite a high demand for the rights to adapt the brilliant book, the pair have decided to write the screenplay on spec rather than signing over to a distributor in advance.
An unabridged audio version of the book, read by Patti herself, was released last month and is available through Amazon. Patti’s new eighteen-track retrospective, Outside Society, arrives on August 22. More info here.
