MP3 | Candy Claws — ‘Earth Spin Begin’

We know what you’re thinking: Ace Of Base don’t have a song called ‘Earth Spin Begin’. And you’re absolutely right. This is actually a cover of ‘Don’t Turn Around’, and forms part of a track-by-track remake of the Swedish pop group’s debut album Happy Nation (released in the US as The Sign) put together over a few years by the folks at Peppermill Records. The whole album is available for free, and also features the likes of Society Of Imaginary Friends (who covered ‘Another Man Done Gone’ for our Odetta tribute album a couple of years back) reinventing ‘Eyes Of A Stranger’ and the wonderful Pikelet putting her own spin on ‘Wheel Of Fortune’. BlackBlack have turned in a killer alt. disco cover of ‘Waiting For Magic’, retitled ‘Sleeping In A Coffin’, which you can also grab below.
