VIDEO | Rubicks — ‘Jungle Of You’

September 14, 2011 by Alan Pedder in Blog

Rubicks
‘Jungle Of You’

If you’ve ever caught Rubicks live in all their thrashing intensity, you’ll know that frontwoman Vanessa Anne Redd was born to be a performer. And while their recently released debut album The Rise Of The Giddy doesn’t quite capture the same degree of magnetism, there are definitely some gems to be found there. The sludgy synth pop-stomp of ‘Jungle Of You’ makes for a good introduction for newcomers, boldly namechecking bands like Queens Of The Stone Age and My Bloody Valentine while piling elements of a variety of others into the mix. Those afraid of ventriloquist’s dummies might want to look away.
