watch: EMA reinvents ‘butterfly knife’

EMA recorded this special version of ‘Butterfly Knife’ from her debut album Past Life Martyred Saints while in Vienna recently for Waves Festival, and it’s well worth watching. Instead of thrashing out her usual rhythms on drums, Erika’s sister Nikki grounds the grungy guitar sounds with a strikingly moody turn on a grand piano, transforming the song into a tense, stunning epic.

Um, wow.
