Feathers have supported the likes of Vivian Girls and Best Coast in their native Australia, and share those acts’ love for prime-era girl-group pop with a modern kick. Their second album Hunter’s Moon (their first with the present lineup) was recorded in a few hours – yes, hours – in an old cinema, which explains the defiantly lo-fi sound of ‘Heartbreakers’. But with a dirty bassline this groove-infused, who really cares about fidelity?
Hunter’s Moon is out next week on Brisbane label Bon Voyage Records and is limited to a pressing of just a hundred copies, so act quickly. Stream the whole thing on Bandcamp.
