Ani DiFranco announces first new album in over 3 years

November 9, 2011 by Alan Pedder in Blog

It’s been an unusually long time since Ani DiFranco’s last album – on her terms, anyway – but the Righteous Babe returns in January with her seventeenth studio recording featuring eleven new songs and a “radically reworked rendition” of Pete Seeger’s iconic union song ‘Which Side Are You On?’, which doubles as the title track and features a guest appearance from the folk legend himself. Download a 2009 live version below.

Other guests on the album include Anaïs Mitchell, The Neville Brothers’ Ivan and Cyril Nevolle, avant-garde saxophonist Skerik, guitarist Adam Levy and an array of New Orleans-based horn players. Ani and husband Mike Napolitano co-produced the record. More info soon!
