INCOMING | Sharon Van Etten — Tramp

November 9, 2011 by Alan Pedder in Blog

Sharon Van Etten
Tramp

[Jagjaguwar; February 6]

Sharon Van Etten’s third album – her first for Jagjaguwar – is a reflection of a more assertive and confident artist. Recorded with The National’s Aaron Dessner in his newly completed home studio, the pair gradually pieced together the album over a fourteen-month period in rare moments when neither were on tour. The album title, Tramp, was inspired by her nomadic state of being throughout the recording, with no permanent place to call home and her possessions scattered between friends across the US.

Guest musicians include Julianna Barwick, Jenn Wasner (Wye Oak), Zach Condon (Beirut), Matt Barrick (The Walkmen) and Thomas Bartlett (Doveman).
