INCOMING | The Unthanks — Diversions Vol. 1

For their second album release of the year, The Unthanks are reliving last December’s magical two-night stint at London’s Union Chapel where they covered the songs of Robert Wyatt and Antony & The Johnsons. Both are artists the band have long admired and incorporated within their repertoire, and this fifteen-track live recording – presented with zero overdubs – is simply an extension of The Unthanks’ appreciation of their music. It even includes the Anja Garbarek-penned ‘Stay Tuned’, which Wyatt covered on his Comicopera album after having duetted with the Norwegian artist on another of her songs, ‘The Diver’, from 2001′s Smiling & Waving.

The Unthanks are taking the project on the road throughout December, and to the Celtic Connections festival in January. Full list of dates here.
