VIDEO | The Pipettes — ‘Boo Shuffle’

November 7, 2011 by Odhran ODonoghue in Blog

The Pipettes
‘Boo Shuffle’

The Pipettes return with a new 7″, ‘Boo Shuffle’, on November 14. Here’s what lead Pipette Ani Saunders had to say about the title track:

“The song’s named after my shuffling hamster Boo (RIP) and more or less represents exactly what The Pipettes are about (the song that is, not the hamster). We like to sing pop songs, we like to dance, and we like to have a good time. It’s got dance moves and directions, and it’s the perfect opportunity for everyone to have fun and let go a little. Let’s face it, it’s pretty gloomy out there at the moment and this song always lightens the mood.”

Can’t say that’s quite what we got from the song, but okay. In any case, the ’60s-inspired ‘Boo Shuffle’ now has a super fun video in which some retro-clad ladies (dance troupe The Actionettes, to be precise) get their groove on just like they used to in the good old days.
