Melissa Ann Sweat, aka Lady Lazarus, has shared two visual pieces to accompany tracks from her excellent debut album Mantic, which came out way back in January. The first is a stark live clip of ‘Via Elysian Fields: Lake Pontchartrain’, directed by Gus Muller and shot in an empty church in Savannah, Georgia, which is beautifully attuned to the sepulchral ambience of her music. The self-shot video for ‘Kurosawa’s Dreams & Me’, meanwhile, is an eerie first-person view from a hospital bed.
