
The shortlist for Ireland’s answer to the Mercury Prize was announced yesterday. Of the ten 2011 Choice Music Prize nominees, only Lisa Hannigan and the Annie Tierney-fronted tieranniesaur are in with a chance of being the Prize’s first female winner since Julie Feeney scooped the inaugural award in 2005. Lisa Hannigan’s Sea Sew lost out in 2008 to her good friend Jape (Richie Egan), who is also among this year’s nominees. Full list below
