MP3 | Light Asylum — ‘IPC’

April 6, 2012 by Odhran ODonoghue in Blog, Free Downloads

Light Asylum
‘IPC’

Light Asylum’s self-titled debut album, out April 30, is one of our most anticipated records of the spring. We’ve already heard two tracks from the record, and now the electro-goth duo are letting you have another one, ‘IPC’, for the price of an email address (use the widget below). The track’s jaunty melody is instantly attention-grabbing. Lighter and more fun than anything the pair have done before, the tinny synths fizz and staccato drums ring out with a bouncy brightness. As if to compensate for this airiness, Shannon Funchess’s baritone is even more ferocious than usual, spitting and snarling with vitriolic fervour. Presumably it’s not about the publishing company that owns such magazine titles as NME, Wallpaper* and Marie Claire…

As we’ve mentioned once already in this section today, Light Asylum play The Nest in Stoke Newington on April 19. Do not miss it.
