Oslo trio Highasakite made quite an impression during their performance at Øya Festival earlier this year, not just on the media contingent but also on their fellow artists. After watching from the side of the stage, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver tweeted, “Holy shit this was a crazy band! I loved it!”, and both Paste and Pitchfork joined the chorus of praise in their festival roundups. Their self-titled debut EP release in August brought with it another wave of acclaim, so it’s high time we paid attention.
And not a moment too soon, as it happens, because Ingrid Helene Håvik, Trond Bersu and Øystein Skar are bringing their vibrant, mysterious take on indie-pop to London for Nordic showcase Ja Ja Ja’s third birthday, performing alongside Denmark’s MØ (find her on our first Choice Notes playlist) and Finland’s Sin Cos Tan – tickets are only a fiver.
In light of all this exciting activity, Wears The Trousers is delighted to host the first glimpse of the new video for EP standout, ‘My Soldier’, directed by APPARATET and “shot in mansions somewhere out in the forest in Hedmark county.”
